How to Find Out a Creditor on Your Credit Report

Credit is a necessity of life in modern times. So your credit has to be the best it can be, or appear to be.

This means you have to know who is reporting on you and if their information is right.

Instructions

    1

Search the Internet for the three credit reporting companies to get their websites.
These are Equifax, TransUnion and Experian.

Each might have a different report, as they do not do business with the same companies.

    2

Ask for your free copy of your credit report from EACH of the three companies

Congress has passed a law that gives everyone the right to review their credit information once a year for free to make sure it is accurate.

    3

Read the reports to find the creditor you are looking for on the report.

You will find the creditors named, for the most part. This information is listed so you can find creditors to check that the reporting information is correct

    4

Contact the creditor if their report on you is not correct.

If you have never missed a payment but they show you as late, then you need to get that fixed as it can hurt your credit score and cost you extra when borrowing.
