How to Unblock Equifax & Experian

Equifax and Experian are companies that track and monitor credit ratings. If unscrupulous individuals obtain access to the account information, they can use it to take out credit in your name and ruin your credit scores. Denying credit solicitors access to your account is one way to prevent this from happening. However, it can be inconvenient if you wish to apply for a loan or credit card.

Instructions

    1

Contact Equifax and Experian to request a block be removed. Phone numbers can be found on each of the credit reporting agency's websites.

    2

Prepare to have necessary information at hand when requesting to unblock Experian and Equifax. Before opting out, you had to provide specific account information, which you hopefully saved. If you don't have that information, contact the credit reporting agencies.

    3

Check your credit ratings at least once a year. Checking your rating helps you to catch and correct errors and to detect any suspicious activity that might have occurred.
