How to Remove an Eviction From Saferent

Whenever you try to rent a house or apartment, the rental company or property owner may choose to run a credit check to get an idea of what sort of risk you might be. This check includes the major credit reporting bureaus, but can also include a "Tenant Blacklisting Service" that lists your previous rental problems, including evictions. This service is monitored by SafeRent. If you feel as though there is an unwarranted eviction report on your SafeRent report, you can contest the information by working directly with the reporting agency.

Instructions

    1

Visit SafeRent's "Downloadable Forms" web page by following the link provided in Resources.

    2

Click "Reinvestigation Form" to download the correct paperwork for contesting an eviction note.

    3

Print the Reinvestigation form and read the instructions carefully. In order to successfully remove your eviction, you must correctly fill out the paperwork.

    4

Attach the required identification documents and in Section B of the form identify the eviction that is incorrect. You must provide documentation proving your statement, such as confirmation from the landlord or court documents.

    5

Mail the form to the indicated location and await a response from SafeRent. The company has up to thirty days to investigate your claims per the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
