    Register at the Grants website to begin the application process (see link in Resources section) by clicking on the "Get Registered" link on the left side of the screen. Scroll down to the option "Individual Registration," click on the "Register" button located underneath the section called "Individual Registration." To your left click on "Step 1: Username & Password" to create a user name and password for the website. Click on "Step 2: Register" enter your user name and password. Register with the website with your personal information.

    Click on "Find Grant Opportunities" under the section "For Applicants," then click on "Basic Search." Enter the keywords to search for a grant, medical bills, medical debts or individual medical bills. Choose a grant to apply for. The grant synopsis will appear with any additional eligibility information.

    Apply for a grant. Click on the "Application" link, which will appear in the top right corner of each grant synopsis page. A pop-up window will appear with the application to download. Scroll to the bottom of the page, and click "Download." Scroll to the bottom of the next page, and click on "Download Application Package." The application will appear in a PDF format. Fill out the required information for the application.

    Check for any errors on the application. The "Save and Submit" button will appear to begin the submission process. Click on this button; the Grants website will reappear requesting your user name and password. Enter the requested information to complete the grant process.
