How to Get in Touch With Experian

Experian is one of the three major credit bureaus in the United States. The company is considered a repository of credit information and must comply with federal privacy laws. Experian collects credit information from many sources and generates consumer credit reports for employers, banks, credit unions, mortgage lenders, and various other end users. You may occasionally wish to contact Experian to request a copy of your credit report or to dispute an incorrect item listed in your credit history.

    Launch your Web browser and navigate to Experian's credit report order page. Use the link provided in the Resources section of this article.

    Click the yellow "Get Your Credit Report and Score" button. Follow the prompts to order a copy of your credit report.

    Go to Experian's credit report dispute page to initiate a dispute of an inaccurate item on your credit report. A link to this website is provided in the Resources section below.

    Contact Experian by telephone at (888) 397-3742 if you have trouble ordering your credit report online or if you wish to talk directly to a customer service agent to dispute incorrect information in your credit file. The representative will not be able to answer any questions about the disputed item but will write down the details of your dispute and forward the report on for investigation.

  1. all I want to do is correct my date of birth on the Experian report, they are the only ones that have it wrong. I cant get an individual to talk to me, all I get is a recording asking me all the wrong information.
