How Do I Cancel My Subsription to True Credit?

True Credit is a subscription credit monitoring service provided by one of the big three U.S. credit reporting bureaus, TransUnion. This month-to-month service allows you instant access to all three credit bureau reports and scores, as well as updates every 30 days. The service also monitors your credit daily, notifying you of any major changes to your credit reports, as well as providing you protection against identity theft. You may cancel the subscription at any time. Here's how you go about it.

Instructions

    1

Call the company's toll free customer service number: (800) 493-2392. A customer service rep can be reached Monday through Thursday 8 a.m. to midnight EST and Friday through Sunday 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. EST. The customer service department is not open on any nationally observed holidays.

    2

Select option two once the automated system answers the call. Your call will be forwarded to a customer service rep who will likely try to encourage you to keep your membership. Be prepared to refuse his sales pitch if you truly wish to cancel. When the customer service rep gets on the line, instruct him you wish to terminate your membership and simply respond "No, thank you," to any offers to continue with the credit monitoring service.

    3

Keep in mind that your membership automatically renews every month indefinitely on the date of your initial purchase. Unless you call and cancel, the monthly membership fee will continue to be billed to the account you indicated at enrollment.

Remember, you must call to cancel. It is the only way to terminate membership. There is not an option to do so online.
