The Best Credit Repair Experts

If you watch television at all, you can't help but notice the amount of companies advertising their credit repair services. Negotiating with creditors to lower or settle payments, sending out dispute letters and cleaning up credit reports are a few of the services offered by these companies. However, as cited by the Federal Trade Commission, many of these companies cannot deliver upon their advertised promises. There are a few companies that have developed a reputation for obtaining results and they are among the top credit repair companies in the nation.

Lexington Law

Though Lexington Law has been helping individuals repair their credit since 1991, they are classified not only as a credit repair company but also as a consumer advocacy group. According to the firm's website, Lexingtonlaw.com, it has provided service for more than 500,000 individuals and had more than 1,013,469 items removed from credit reports in 2009. These items included the following: bankruptcy, collections, late payments, repossessions and judgments. The firm charges $39.95 per month for its services and a $99.95 onetime fee to begin work. However, these fees are charged after work has been completed.

DSI Solutions

DSI Solutions begins the credit repair process by obtaining your credit report. The company emphasizes its willingness and ability to dispute both old and new items that appear erroneously on your credit report. Additionally, DSI Solutions provides continual credit repair services for all of your past and present credit problems. Most importantly, the company offers a full refund if you are not satisfied with its services. Costs include a start-up fee of $19 followed by 3 payments of $89.

Sky Blue Credit

Established in 1989, Sky Blue Credit was awarded the Fair Credit Reporting Act Certification by the Consumer Data Industry Association. Among the services it provides are credit bureau disputes, debt validations, credit counseling and assistance in building new credit. Sky Blue Credit charges a onetime set-up fee and charges a monthly service fee ($49.99 monthly). However, the company charges the monthly fee one month after the setup fee has been paid.
