- 1
If you do not have a copy of your credit report there are two ways to get it from Experian:
1: Go to http://www.experian.com/reportaccess/
Once here click where it says "Get My Report Now"
2: You can also do this by mail I you wish and the address to request you report is:
Experian PO Box 9556 Allen, TX 75013
Send a letter with your name, address, phone number, social security number, and birthday. This letter is provided for you with this set.
If done online, experian will then ask you for personal information.
Name
address
Birthday
SSN
phone number
Employer
NOTE: if you have recently moved be sure to have your last address as well.
Once this information is filled out click on SUBMIT
4After you have filled this information out and have clicked on the submit icon in the lower left hand corner, it will bring up a new screen asking you some verification questions, such as loans you may have opened or addresses you may have lived at.
Answer these questions to the best of your knowledge.
5If you do not do this section correctly, you will not be able to access your report. This section is imperative if you want to continue.
Once the above steps are completed and everything is verified, you will now be looking at a report summary.
6The report summary will show you in quick format your potentially negative items, your accounts in good standing, any requests for your credit history, personal information, and a personal statement if you have made one.
7Once you receive a report you can investigate by using the phone number below and the steps to get to a human person.
(NOTE: I have only ever needed to call for the section regarding personal information, and the section stating request for credit history. Everything else I have done by mail or online)
800 493 1058
Say "yes"; enter report ; enter social security ; say "yes"; say "agent"
Then "yes" to confirm at prompts thereafter.

The above is the website to work with Experian directly.
http://www.experian.com/reportaccess/
The above link should be used to get your report for the first time.
Return to the Experian website. Each time you return to the website you will have to go to the dispute section. First, go to www.experian.com then at the bottom of their home page, there is a link for disputes. Click on the link and it will bring you to a new page. On this new page click where it says "click here to request a dispute online"
10This brings up a new screen where it asks you for your report number, Social Security number, State and Zip code. Fill in this information then check the three boxes at the bottom of this section, and click submit. This is how you check your report on a daily basis.
11When you are looking at the report summary where it refers to the potentially negative items click on the words, "Potentially Negative", once done you will now see in a list format all the negative items listed on your report.
12To investigate, click on an item. A new window will appear. In this new window, on the upper right hand side you will see a button that says "dispute this item" click on this button.
13On the next screen, there will be a drop down menu for you to choose why you want this item to be investigated. For the very first time, you will select the option "No Knowledge of Account". In the text box where you can add information or someone's name you do not need to enter anything there.
14Below, there is a button that says "Submit Your Dispute" click on that button. On the next screen it will ask you for an email address to receive the results of your dispute. Enter in an email address that you will be using for your credit repair.
15Repeat the email address, and then click on "yes" to keep viewing your report. This will then return you to the negative items again, and now that item that you just investigated will be colored differently, usually in yellow.
16You then go to the next item in the list and follow the same above steps choosing "no Knowledge of account" for each one that you investigate, and you repeat this process until all negative items on your Experian report have been investigated.
17Once complete you now wait, and check your report daily, to make sure no new items come up on your report and to make sure that the personal information you investigated also gets taken care of. You will want to check your Experian credit report at minimum once a week if you are not doing it every day.
18After an investigation is complete online, as you check your report and investigations finish the items will no longer be colored, the next step if an item is still on your report, is to re-investigate the item, the same way you did before, the only difference now being, instead of selecting "No Knowledge of Account" You will choose the option "Unauthorized Charges" from the drop down menu you will follow
the same above steps in the sense of going down the list and investigating any items that did not come off with your first investigation and simply choosing that one different choice.
Once you have done this you can repeat, with experian they will become harder as you go along suggest to you only doing items that are very old to start with, not anything inn the last two years.
Start with all items three years old or older.
