How to Find Charged Off Credit Card Debt

If you have charged-off or unpaid credit-card debt on your credit report, your credit score is likely suffering. A charged-off account, whether paid or not, can remain on your credit report for up to seven years. If you are interested in improving your credit score, your first step is learning what is on your report.

Instructions

    1

Order you credit report from TransUnion. Download your credit report from the bureau's website to look for charged-off credit-card debt. You also can call TransUnion to ask for more details or download a request form from its website to receive your credit report through the mail.

    2

Order your credit report from Equifax. Information on your Equifax credit report might differ from that on the other two credit reporting bureaus. When reviewing your Equifax report, you will find creditor information for credit cards that have been charged-off.

    3

Order your credit report form Experian. Your Experian credit report can be ordered by internet or mail, and a phone number is listed on the Experian website if you have specific questions you would like answered. When reviewing your Experian report, you will find information listed from creditors that include charged-off debt.
