How to Pay a Sears Mastercard Online

If you are a Sears MasterCard customer and you want to go paperless, you can enroll in online bill pay. There are two ways to make an online payment on a Sears MasterCard: either through the Sears online payment system or through your own bank account's e-bill payment system. In either case, you'll need your Sears MasterCard account number.

Paying Sears Directly

Register for online access to your MasterCard, if you are not currently enrolled. You will need your Sears MasterCard account number, date of birth, Social Security number, email address, street address and phone number. Choose a unique user ID and password. Verify the account by opening the email from Sears and clicking the verification link.

Log on to your Sears account by visiting the e-pay system listed in Resource 1. Find the correct Sears account (if you have more than one). Open this account.

Click the "Pay Online" tab. This will take you to an encrypted website. Pull out your debit card or check. The system will take online debit card and check payments. Enter the amount you wish to pay. Enter your routing number (a nine-digit number usually along the bottom left portion of the check), account number and check number (if paying by check). Enter your debit card number if paying by checking account.

Double-check the information and click "submit." Check your email for a payment confirmation number. Keep this number in your financial records.

Paying Through Your Bank

Log on to your bank and enroll in online e-billing at your personal bank, if you are not currently enrolled. You will need the account number for your MasterCard.

Click on "add a payee." This will direct you to a new screen where you must enter the official company name (the actual bank servicing the account). This is most probably CitiBank. Enter the account number, the expiration date and the three-digit security code on your MasterCard. Create a nickname for the account (e.g. Sears Card).

Click "submit." Your bank needs to verify this account before you can begin making payments on the card. This may take a few days. Wait for an email confirmation from your bank.

Log in to your e-billing account once the account is verified. Find the Sears card from the list of payees (the nickname you chose will show up here, not CitiBank). Enter the amount you wish to pay, double-check the figure and click "make payments." Payments usually take a few days to process.
