How to Transfer Unemployment Benefits From Wisconsin to Oregon

If you were employed in the state of Wisconsin before you lost your job, you were required to file for unemployment in Wisconsin. This is not because you may live in Wisconsin but because that was the state where your most recent employer was located. If you move to another state, such as Oregon, for any reason, you do not transfer to the Oregon unemployment office. Instead, you continue to file your unemployment claims with Wisconsin, but they do need to know where you are in Oregon. You are also still required to look for work each week in Oregon.

Instructions

    1

Wait for your weekly claim form to arrive by mail, unless you complete the claim form online or over the phone. If so, wait until it is time for your to file your new weekly claim.

    2

Report your address change on your weekly claim form. For the paper form, select the box for the address change and write in the new address. For phone filing, press "2" when asked if you have an address change and then dictate the address after the tone. For online filing, click on the box for a new address and type it in the new address field.

    3

Call a claims specialist in Wisconsin at 800-494-4944 to give the new Oregon address if you are not currently filing the claims or if you just prefer to give the address to an actual person.
